Natural coloured diamonds are amongst the rarest and most beautiful of all gemstones, out of 80 million carats of diamond rough mined each year only 0.001% are considered fancy coloured. Coloured diamonds appear in a broad variety of unique colours capturing every colour in nature. As the supply of coloured diamonds entering the market decreases, prices continue to rise making them a significant investment with prices on high quality goods expected to double within the next six years.

Argyle yearly production are as follows; 80% of diamonds are light to dark brown, 16% are yellow to orange, 2% are white, 2% are grey to blue, and less than 1% are pink and green.

The Argyle diamond mine leads the world in volume production of diamond, averaging annual production of 35 million carats (7,000 kg), or about one third of global production of natural diamonds.
